The first in a series of fans, this porcelain piece represents a classical European fan although the decoration is inspired by oriental drawings. It is scenery inspired by the Japanese artist Hokusai from a printing school called "ukiyo-e". Nature is the main motif including the branch of a blossoming cherry tree, several blue irises, open roses, birds and a background with a lake and hiss at dusk.
The piece can be displayed on a shelf or table using the wooded base. It can also be a wall hanging, using the hooks on its backboard.
This piece is reproducing the south obelisk erected by pharaon Thothmes I, to be found in Karnak (Egypt) Our item has added the square base with egyptian motives (papyrus flowers) and a frontal cartridge with hieroglyphic symbols. It lays on four lions. Two finishes are available: ochre (item 01008433) or green. In both of them the base contrasts with the topping thanks to a different enameling. Fully engraved with the real hieroglyphs
