Now in its eighth year, Willow Tree? continues to grow, attracting new and familiar customers with expressive art forms that communicate beyond words. Susan Lordi hand carves each original figure. Using family and friends as models, Susan tries to capture a moment in time or express a feeling. I want to create a pure form that speaks through gesture. Willow Tree isn't so much about the tangible piece. It represents an emotion, or it marks a memory.

The idea for Peach on Earth was formulating as our country was making plans to go to war. In a way, it was my response. It’s not about celestial peace, but peace on earth among men – what we need to contemplate now. I gave her dress a very earthy color to ‘ground’ it. The lamb is a symbol of peace, the woman, a peacemaker. Peace – here on earth – is what I tried to portray in color, symbol, and look. -- Susan Lordi

Everyone knows somebody that lights up a room when she or he walks in. You’re always happy to see that person — it’s somebody who captures the essence of life — who’s fun to be around — who brings energy and light. Like when the sun comes out! When I’m outside on a cloudy day and feel the sun on my skin, it makes me want to turn my face up to embrace it — just like a sunflower. This piece is for those people who enrich your life every day.
Sadly, I bought this beautiful box to place a lock of hair from my beloved labrador, Tyler, in. He was in the end stages of cancer at the time and has since passed. While he is very much missed, I have a forever keepsake withheld in side a lovely reminder on my puppy.
