Remake of the classic Lladro chess set (01006333 Medieval Chess Set), created in the 80’s. The inspiration of the pieces refers to the middle ages style, as recalling the real origins and startpoints of this game in the western world. White and black porcelain, non glazed; the black team is not gres but porcelain in a dark colour. Platinum luster in shiny and matte finish. Base of the pieces is protected with a felt cover, for smooth moves. The chessboard is a special non breakable thick glass with polished edges measuring 54 cm x 54 cm.
A very elegant piece combining a lady and a horse. She is dressed with the classic attire for riders in a competition. The characteristic dressage saddle is placed on a grey pad to protect the animal's back
The story of Lladró is the story of the family. The Lladró brothers represented their own parents in some of their early pieces, and this was the seed that would grow in later years into one of the most fertile sources of inspiration in the Lladró universe. Everyday scenes recreated in Lladró figurines reveal a complex world of stories full of emotions and feelings
The Lladro is great. The mixed bag of info re shipping, etc. was very frustrating. Earlier this week I was told (for the third time) the Lladro was to be shipped from NY today-- and instead it arrived today. Need a better system................
