The Lladro Knocks on Wood collection revolves around the association of certain animals with fortune, and intends to wish good luck to those receiving one of these amulets. This placid animal has traditionally been used to represent health, plenitude and social standing. A symbol of the renewal of life, the ancient Greeks depicted heroes with the head of a wild boar. In the Celtic tradition its meat was served in banquets offered to the gods from the great beyond.
