Initial grinding noise subsided once gears were sufficiently greased, in about a week, after constant (12hr/day) use. Love it!  By: PATRICIA D. I've always wanted an animated skating pond, so I ordered it for myself and love it! It was to large for my display and was subsequently returned with no problem whatsoever My sister-in-law was esctatic. Her skating pond of many years (which she loved) finally stopped working and was glad that the new version looked so much like the old version.
