Cricket games during the 1800’s would often result in a request that the umpire inspect the ball for any defects that might give the opponent an advantage.
Images of many historic English Cricket clubhouses provided the inspiration for this charming design. The sporty green siding is offset by the bright red curtains. Members can relax on the front porch or view the game from the upper balcony window
A delightful addition to main street, Carol is the local baker, know for best for her Christmas Cookies. The special railing along the large second story window resembles favorite cookie shapes. Sisal wreaths and garland adorn the front.

Multi colored LED lights are on the elves. Coordinating Accessory: "The Finishing Touch". The piece is lovely, however the packaging from the manufacturer is poorly done!! I have bought Department 56 pieces for years and the packaging just seems to get worse each year. So sad as you really need good packaging to store these items when not in use.
Where Santa and the elves go for a good time on the town. The large acrylic drink glass on the front is filled with something that looks sparkly and fruity. A visit to this club offers several options: hanging out in the 'Snowman's Grotto' or 'Peppermint Lounge' or perhaps the 'Reindeer Room' on the top floor. Of course the 'fun meter' at the front door indicates the good time is maxed out. Coordinating Accessory: "Girls Night Out".
The summer home for this family is not only used in the warm-months, but the holiday season as well. With enough – the grandkids are snuggled in bed upstairs, while aunts and uncles share Christmas memories around the large stone fireplace.

Lea Hurst is an early Victorian gabled house, which is most famous as the childhood home of Florence Nightingale. Although she was named after the city of her birth, Florence spent much of her childhood in the Derbyshire mansion and it was used by The Nightingale's as their summer residence. The oldest stone house in the area, Leahurst is believed to have been built in 1840.
Dickens' Village Series During Dickens' time, and the rein of Queen Victoria, London was the cultural and financial center of the world. The British Empire was expanding, and trade with foreign lands spiked. This new introduction is a testimony to the merchants specializing in goods imported from around the world. This building has been modified to suit the needs of the rug merchant. The large double door on the right is used for deliveries, and the large window allows the latest arrivals to be properly displayed. Featuring an elegant design, a showcased rug hangs beside the window. Step back in time to the cobblestone streets, gas street lamps, and horse-drawn carriages of our 19th century Dickens' Village Series.

Like the other clock towers in this grouping, it features our Department 56 iconic clock face, set at of the time of “5 To 6”.
Small statue above the door depicts Our Lady of Guadalupe, patron saint of Mexico. Traditional architectural styling makes this an outstanding addition to the churches of Original Snow Village. Inspired by a church Scott found in Oklahoma City.
The "Pembroke Textile Mill" represents the area where many textile mills first came to be in New Hampshire. It even has the water wheel which came about in the 19th century making it an incredibly authentic New England piece. To make this piece even more exciting, when plugged in, the water wheel turns and the building lights up as if everyone is at work making the latest fashions!
