Spanish Passion and Spanish Fire (ref. 010.12467 and 010.12468) are a pair of flamenco dancers. What captures our attention in these pieces are the meticulously studied postures. The gres and enamels accentuate the dark tone of the skin, and the male dancer's naked torso provides an overall sense of naturalness to the piece. The stances are passionate and the realism of the execution is evident in the man's torso and trousers and in the woman's dress, further embellished by the enamels.
